Graduating Senior Concerto Competition
The CYS Senior Orchestra holds an annual Concerto Competition in December, offering its current graduating seniors an exciting opportunity to showcase their talent on our season finale concerts in May. Winners perform either a movement from a concerto or a one movement concert piece accompanied by the CYS Senior Orchestra.
2019-20 Concerto Competition Information
See below for a list of acceptable/non-acceptable concerti. Upon completing the registration form, your piece will be reviewed for approval. Registration is now open!
Competition Date: Saturday, December 7, 2019
Where: Almond Elementary School
Time: 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM (Auditions slots are 15 minutes each)
Accompanist: Not required, though highly recommended!
Dress Code: Casual
Registration Deadline: November 20
Please note the following:
- Only one movement from a concerto or a one movement piece (circa 15 min) is eligible
- Must audition on the instrument you play in the orchestra
- Music must be memorized for the concert. It does not need to be memorized for the audition.
- Individual practice rooms are not available but there are warm-up areas outside. Please Come prepared, keep warm, and arrive at least 15 minutes early.
