Siran Wang
Graduating Senior Concerto Competition Winner
Siran Wang, age 17, is a senior at Mission San Jose High School. She began her music studies at age 4 on the piano, and has played the flute since age 9 under the instruction of Chang Lu.
This is her 6th year in the California Youth Symphony, previously playing in the Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony, and Associate Orchestra, before joining the Senior Orchestra last year. She was a selected performer in the Junior Bach Festival in 2021.
Outside of music, Siran enjoys playing tennis and is a co-captain of the MSJ girls’ tennis team. She is also passionate about community service and has served as the president of her school’s Key Club this year. In her free time, Siran is an avid movie-watcher and loves to reproduce film soundtracks on the piano/flute.
In college, she plans to join university orchestras and continue playing the flute alongside academics.
