Kaz Nakao

Inaugural Wind Symphony Solo Competition Winner

Kaz Nakao is a Senior at Homestead High School. He has played saxophone for 6 years. He plays in his school's wind ensemble and jazz band. Under the tutelage of Shay Salhov, he has won competitions including Bellagrande International Music Festival (1st), American Fine Arts Festival Concerto Competition (1st), American Protege (1st), and CMEA Solo and Ensemble Festival (Distinction). He has also participated in the Santa Clara County Honor Band.
