Jennifer Mori
Graduating Senior Concerto Competition Winner
Cellist Jennifer Mori, 18, is a senior at Palo Alto High School. She currently studies with Jonathan Koh of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and her previous cello teachers include Mrs. Sieun Lin and Ms. Kris Yenny.
She has won numerous competitions including the DVC/HNU Young Artist String Competition, MTNA California State Competition, VOCE state final, US Open Music Competition, United States International Music Competition (USIMC), Nova Vista Symphony Concerto Competition, ASTA State competition, and the 2021 and 2022 YoungArts Competition. She was also selected to compete in the XI International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians which will be held in China in 2022. She also performed as a soloist with the Nova Vista Symphony in February 2023 as the Nova Vista Competition winner.
She serves as Co-principal cello at California Youth Symphony and as Regional Director of the Back to BACH project, San Francisco region. She attended the 2018, 2019 Tateuchi Institute of Music under Mr. Brinton Smith and the 2021 Bowdoin International Music Festival under Mr. David Ying. Besides music, she enjoys baking, calligraphy, and playing with her dog. In the fall she plans to attend Stanford University.
