Communication
CYS Billboard is a section of the CYS website specifically for musicians and parents. Each CYS program has its own Billboard page. On the Billboard page, you will find an archive of the newsletters issued this season, rehearsal and concert schedules, announcements, suggested repertoire information, fundraising information, program policies, and other helpful information pertaining to your program. The Billboard page also has an easy link to complete an absence form. This is a site that should be bookmarked on your internet browser and does not require a login to access.
CYS Login: This is the login information provided in the audition results notification letter (sent via USPS) or Registration Letter (for returning members) to complete your registration info. This site takes you to complete the Member Information Form, and provides you a link to download the season calendar for your program. This private site also provides information about the program you are enrolled in, as well as the link to the Billboard page for your program.
CYS Newsletters: Almost all CYS updates will be sent via email. There are two types of emails you will receive from us: Marketing emails include occasionally concert and event announcements that pertain to any CYS program. Operations emails (aka: weekly newsletters) are specific to your program and provide rehearsal reminders, concert details, and other announcements. Please do not “unsubscribe” on any of these, as it will remove you entirely from receiving any CYS newsletters.
CYS uses VerticalResponse to email our newsletters. Some email servers may restrict delivery of our newsletters; therefore, to help resolve this issue, please add "@mail.vresp.com" to your contact list.
- Outlook.com (Formerly Hotmail) or Company accounts
- Open your Outlook mailbox.
- Select Options from the top right (next to the question mark).
- Select More options > Safe and blocked senders (under Preventing junk email) > Safe senders.
- In the space provided, enter "mail.vresp.com" or "@mail.vresp.com" to whitelist the domain.
- Select Add to list.
- Ensure the safe mailing lists box has the address you entered, and select OK.
- Yahoo - Add to Safe Sender List
- Select Actions from the toolbar at the top of the screen.
- Select Junk E-mail.
- Select Junk E-mail Options...
- Click the Safe Sender tab.
- Click Add.
- Type in the email address "@mail.vresp.com" to your safe sender list.
- Click OK.
- Yahoo - Add to Contact List
- In Yahoo Mail, your Contacts list is your whitelist. To add the From Address to your Yahoo Contacts:
- Open your Yahoo mailbox.
- Click the address book icon under the Yahoo! Mail logo. When you roll your mouse over it, it will say Contacts.
- Click "New Contact".
- Fill in the fields of your Contact: cys@mail.vresp.com and california_youth_symphony@mail.vresp.com
- Click Save.
- GMail
- GMail accounts have a tabbed interface for the inbox and our newsletters may filter to a folder named "Promotions" under "Categories".
- Open your Settings and go to the "Filters and Blocked Addresses" tab
- On the From field, enter "@mail.vresp.com"
- Click Create Filter
- Put a check mark o "Categorize as..." and choose "Primary"
- Click Create Filter
